About HVA
A bit about us…
In and around Howick visitors discover why so many people have made the area their home. It’s a great place to live and a great place to visit.
From the quaint village shopping area to the tranquil eastern beaches, you’ll find peaceful and rich surroundings that encompass real charm of New Zealand life.
There is a genuine community feel, where real locals linger over a coffee or wine. The Saturday morning market is a hive of activity where you find New Zealand made arts and crafts, and stock the cupboards or the campervan with fresh produce and artisan foods.
The surrounding bush walks and beaches provide a new view each time you visit. If sport and recreation is your thing, lap up the stunning fishing grounds around the Hauraki Gulf, catch the sailing action at local yacht clubs or see Kiwi kids on the sports grounds throughout the weekends. You may see the next All Black legend in the making.
What does the HVA do?
The Howick Village Association is first and foremost a stand-alone incorporated society and not-for-profit organisation.
HVA was invited to participate as a BID (Business Improvement District) in 2006 and on acceptance, is tasked with driving economic development in Howick Village, in terms of Auckland Council BID Policy 2016.
The aims and purposes of the HVA are outlined in our constitution and we would be following those even if we were not a BID. The BID presence provides us with the funds to more successfully implement those economic development activities.
