The HVA are proud to work with the local community.
Here are a few of the events and activities we provide:
- The iconic Saturday morning Howick Village Markets and entertainment
- 35+ CCTV security cameras (with funding from Lion Foundation Howick Local Board) providing increased safety and security for the community
- Close working relationship with the NZ Police to maintain a safe and family friendly Village
- Public events including the Christmas Fair, Star Insure Howick Village Hop & Pedal Car Parade, Eco-Day, Day and the new Cultural Food Festival
- ANZAC commemorations and displays each year in the Village
- ANZAC Sound and Light Tribute on the days leading up to ANZAC day
- Competitions for our community including regular Shop and Win promotions, Easter Bunny Hunts
- Support to our local charities including The Salvation Army, and Breast Cancer Foundation and ROTARY Howick’s Blankets 4 Kids 4 Winter Project
- Recycling projects including Uplift NZ, SwapKit and e-waste collections
- Projects with Rotary Club of NZ, local community and school groups – eg knitters for our recent Village Christmas Tree
- Howick Village street banner flags
- Howick Village murals and Matariki art display supported by Arts out East
- HVA Wellness and Health Expo’s for our community
- Howick Village outdoor fairy lights on trees
- Safer Vehicle Plates project with Howick Pakuranga Community Patrol and NZ police
- Clean up days around Howick Village with volunteers painting and cleaning the Village with support from the Beautification Trust
- Reporting of maintenance, graffiti and ongoing issues to Auckland Council, Auckland Transport and other agencies
- Santa’s caravan/grotto for the children at Christmas time
- Santa’s mailbox for children to deliver their wish lists each Christmas
- Promotion and marketing of the Village, creating a vibrant shopping environment to support our local businesses.
